"Stay happy and you'll be perfectly fine" - Jack Norris

Close to but not quite totally flat

Hello Friends,

Barely a breath of wind under sunny skies as Sunday kicked off. Down at the beach though, things are still very much as they’ve been for days now. At Dee Why there’s just the barest hint of a line coming in. Somebody on a SUP was chasing the ripples along the rocks at the point while up the beach a few others were trying to pick up ankle to knee high bumps.
The MHL buoy was showing just under a metre of 12 sec SSE at Sydney – and it was more or less the same from Eden to Byron.
Tide was a 1.3m high at 0820 and will be back to low at 1400.
The Bureau’s modelling shows a little bump mid-week, but it doesn’t show the expected period and for the models that do, it would seem the uptick will just be short period south wind bump. So, at this stage I’m only cautiously hopeful about a solid improvement to our surf prospects. Some, but not all, of the longer range modellers are predicting a ESE 1-1.5 metres at 12-14 second pulse next weekend. So there is that…
Have yourself a great Sunday!
