"Stay happy and you'll be perfectly fine" - Jack Norris

Possible to surf this Saturday morning

Hello Friends,

Gloomy, drizzly grey skies, mild temps and not much wind as Saturday got started. There are some waves around the place, but only a few spots are picking up the waist to chest plus sets coming from the south. The MHL buoy was seeing 2 metres of SSE swell at 10 seconds as of 0500. The early wind was 10-14 kts from the south but as you can see from the pics, the surface conditions weren’t too scrappy (yet). Tide was low at 0645 and is currently running into the high at 1325. Ocean is still on 18C.

The outlook is for the swell energy to gradually fade across the day, so it looks as though the plan is to hit it asap before those sets get pretty rare by this afternoon. Tomorrow is shaping to be small thanks to the swell period dropping back into the 7-8 second range. It should be dead south as well. Wind could be okay early but there’s a strong wind warning for the NEr to hit 30  kts in the afternoon. Weather should be a bit nicer though.

Have a good one everybody!
