Out of control big

Hello Friends,

Dangerous conditions along all the exposed stretches of Sydney’s coast this morning. Swell at sea is around the 5-6 metre mark this morning and wind was WSW at 20 kts with stronger gusts. Surface conditions were actually fairly clean looking, but there’s just way too much water moving around. Beachwatch is calling the water quality suss from Northy south to Manly – as though you needed any other disincentive. Good day to watch the spectacular conditions.

Outlook is for the crazy conditions to prevail for another couple of days with maybe Saturday being approachable if you’re fit and experienced. But we’ll see…

Go well with your day and stay safe!

Weather Situation
A deep low pressure system is centred over the central Tasman Sea. This system is whipping up blustery winds and powerful waves along parts of the New South Wales coast, with conditions gradually easing later in the week as the low moves east towards New Zealand and a high pressure ridge moves over the state from the west.
