"Stay happy and you'll be perfectly fine" - Jack Norris

Blowy early but waves too

Hello Friends,

Wind was already 8-10 kts from the NNE wind by 0800 and swell at sea was 2 metres of 11 second energy from the east. The wind is expected to build to 20-25 kts this afternoon. It was fairly sunny as the day kicked off, but there’s a 60% of a sprinkle as it clouds up and we head to a high of 30C. Tide was low at 0630 and will be back to a 1.5m high at 1300. Water’s on 18C.

Quality was not great, but it’s our usual summer pattern, so one has to recalibrate expectations when it comes to surface conditions, if you know what I mean. Set wave faces are into the shoulder plus range at the best exposures, so there will be moments of energy if you’re in the right spot.

It’s Thursday, so that means the Mighty Goat will cast the runes and pronounce upon our chances for a wave across the weekend and into next week. So check back this afternoon to see what the wise one thinks about our surf hopes.

Go well, take the mask and have a great Thursday.

Weather Situation

A deepening low pressure system over Bass Strait is moving slowly east, with an associated cold front crossing southern and central parts of the New South Wales coast today. The front will continue to the north coast on Friday, after which a high pressure system is forecast to extend across the state from the west. This high looks set to become the dominant feature in the region through the weekend.
