Swell piling in this morning

Hello Friends,
Lots of activity at Dee Why this morning along with mostly sunny skies and a light offshore breeze. Surf looked pretty consistent and the point was well attended, but it looks to me as though the bombs are shutting down and while offshore, the surface was pretty lumpy. Wave faces on the bombs were solidly overhead. The beach was suffering from morning sickeness and was kinda jumbled up with big faces and flat, full looking shoulders. There are bound to be heaps of surf options around this morning, but you’ll need to study the conditions pretty carefully before paddling out. It’s definitely not a good day for beginners.
Looking at the numbers, the offshore buoys were seeing 2.2 metres of 10 second ESE swell with up to 3.4 metres when the seas are added into the equation. Water should be about 19C today. Tide is coming off the low at 0405 as it heads to a pretty swampy 1.7m high at 1030. Weather should be partly cloudy with a mild 22C high.
Outlook is for swell to push along at about the current intensity, but the wind’s due to go around to the north to NE tomorrow and then switch back to stiff south easterly on Thursday.
Go well one and all and keep the mask handy for indoor public spaces.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system over the southern Tasman Sea extends a ridge along the New South Wales coast, while a low moves across the northern Tasman Sea, producing vigorous southerly stream along the coast today. Winds will gradually ease later today and tomorrow as the low moves further offshore and the ridge becomes the dominant feature in the region. The next cold front is expected to reach the southern coast late Wednesday, then extend north on Thursday.
