Hello Friends,
It’s been NNE since 0300 and by 0800 it was 7-11 kts. Surface conditions were just beginning to show some texture, which would have been okay if there was more swell energy. It was coming from the east and a touch over a metre out at sea, but the period was just 5 seconds. That was translating into very weak knee to waist high dribble at the best exposures. Tide was high at 0520 and will be back to low at 1210. By then the wind should be getting into the 15-25 kt range as the day warms to a high of 29C. Water’s still on 23C.
With luck this is the lowest ebb surfwise for the next week or so. The models are showing a gradual uptick in wave heights toward a peak into the interesting range mid next week. Wind is looking unhelpful for the weekend, but come Monday morning, there could be a little east swell with light breezes for the early session. The models continue to point to a building east swell for midweek, so Tuesday and Wednesday early could potentially be fun…

Weather Situation
A high pressure system will be the dominant feature over the southern Tasman Sea for most of this week, extending a ridge to the northern New South Wales coast. The ridge will maintain east to southeasterly winds along northern parts of the coast and north to northeasterly winds along southern parts.A weak trough is expected to bring a weak and brief southerly change to the South Coast during Saturday, with winds shifting back to the northeast from Sunday.
