Onshore but more size too

Hello Friends,

Another grim, grey, rainy morning along the beaches. Swell has come up a little thanks to a near doubling of the period since yesterday. It 2.6 metres and was coming mainly from the SE at 14 seconds apart as of 0900. Weathery was showery and wind was ESE at 3-5 kts. As the forecast below notes, the wind will stay easterly and get into the 15-25 kt range as the day goes along.

Fresh easterly winds will prevail over the next few days as a strong high pressure system over the southern Tasman Sea slowly drifts eastwards. Winds will tend northeasterly along the southern and central coastal waters during the weekend as the high moves further east while extending a ridge towards the northeast of the state.
