Hello Friends,
Apologies for the gap in reporting since Friday. Add my name to long list of Dee Why rock off casualties. On Friday morning when swell was pumping, I decided it would be more fun to go for a swim with my camera at the point rather than try to mix it with fit young crowd.
Long story-short, the lull I thought I was taking advantage of turned out to be not three small waves in duration, but two. Thereafter things went downhill fairly rapidly and a couple of hours later I was in the capable hands of the excellent medicos at Northern Beaches Hospital.
Huge shout out to them by the way for their calm professionalism and solicitous care throughout my stay. Every single interaction I had with those hardworking HCWs, from the lovely nursing staff to the extremely busy docs, was a pleasant one. We’re very lucky on the Northern Beaches, we really are.
At least for the next week or so I’m not expecting to be able to do much in the way of reporting, so bear with me, it’ll gradually get back to normal. I was lucky not to have broken or torn anything, but I’m instructed to take it very easy over the next couple of weeks.
