Just a warning to anyone headed for Dee Why Beach today. Roads and Maritime are resurfacing Howard Ave today and say it’ll be closed off to all except resident traffic all day so you may want to plan an alternative route to the beach. Also, Council seems to be setting up for some kind of event tomorrow on the Reserve in front of the beach so that’ll make access even more difficult.
No sign as yet (0840) of the incoming storm and swell, but it’s not far off. Charts show a big spike in swell to 8m at Port Kembla and rain radar show some heavy rain headed our way from the CPD. 13C, overcast and light rain. A few small, clean waves and a BIG southerly windstorm expected soon.
