Thumpin’

Pitted

Lefty

Hello Friends,

As of 0745 the swell was 4 metres, SSE at 11 seconds. Wind was west 10-15 kts. Tide was low at 0725 and will rise roughly a metre to the high at 1345. Waves are 1.5x-2x overhead on the bigger ones (not counting the unrideable bombs that shut the joint down). Surface conditions are pretty beat up with all that water in motion, but there are definitely a few nice looking sections on offer for the crew.

Obviously not a day for the beginner or less than fighting fit and confident surfer. It wouldn’t be too hard to get into trouble on a day like this.

Outlook is basically for the swell to keep thumping in for the next 3-4 days at least.

I’m getting out and about with the camera gear, so wave hi if you see me.

Go well and don’t do anything stupid. Nature’s playing for keeps today.

Oh yeah, and don’t forget the Surfrider (winter) solstice jam this Thursday night at Deck Bar in Dee Why from 6. $20 in gets you a couple drinks and finger food as well as fine live music, surfin’ video and irresistible raffles (boards, wetties, etc).
