Stay in bed Saturday morning

Hello Friends,

Early risers were given every reason to stay in bed this morning. 20-30 knots of ESE onshore wind, dark and showery skies and a couple of metres of 6-sec SE wind swell stumbling in to the beaches of Sydney.

The Bureau says these unsavory conditions will last all day.

Tomorrow the wind is expected to still be about as strong, but it should be SW and that may open up a few surf prospects because there should be some scrappy wind swell getting in. Right now it looks like being marginal surfwise for Sunday and it’ll still be overcast with the odd morning shower.

Easter Monday morning might possibly be a little more interesting as we’re supposed to get a sunny morning (ahead of more rain in the afternoon) with offshore wind and some fading remnants of SE and E wind swell. Tide on Monday is gonna be high at 0920, so that could mean dawn patrol is not as productive as gentlemen’s hours later.

My hope is for waist plus at magnet spots for Monday.

Tuesday could see some knee to waist energy if the models have picked it, and Wednesday and Thursday look like featuring a juicy south pulse (chest plus). Bit of a question mark over the wind though. With luck it’ll be SW early before going south in the afternoon.

So, all and all not a hopeless outlook for the week ahead.

Will try to get a picture when the rain lets up…

Have a top old Saturday!

Weather Situation
A high pressure system near Tasmania is moving steadily east, while a deepening trough lies off the central and northern New South Wales coast. A low centre is expected to develop within this trough today, intensifying as it moves to the central Tasman Sea on Sunday. A weak pressure pattern is expected to return to the coast on Monday as the next high approaches from the west, although there is potential for another deep low to form off the southern coast on Tuesday.
