Surf forecast issued Thursday 16 April 2015: Seven day outlook for Sydney:
Well…… after a balmy 28 degree day with so so surf (so good for some so ordinary for others who decided not to even go in) I’m feeling the first little whisps of Southerly air – which the Bureau say will bring the temp down to 23 tomorrow…But wait then 28 on Saturday with a light Northerly… Can I keep up with this??? Can the surf keep up with it?
Well…….’probably’…and ‘not really’… dealing with the second one first (can you keep up??).. You can’t expect the waves to get whacked around from different directions in a hurry and still stay happy.. Whereas Grasshopper, the cane bends with the breeze and does not break.. (oh that’s deep)
So best feelings for the surf, depending on what the weather systems do down south and when, is
Friday: down from earlier today, say 1, 1+ metres at dead South places
Saturday: 1, 1 + metres East
Sunday: about 1 metre North East
Monday: coming up thru 1-2 metres, 2-3 metres at dead South places
Tuesday: up more say 3-4 metres or more East South East
Wednesday: going down around 3, 3+ metres South East
Thursday: 2-3 metres South East
Friday: about 2 metres dead South.
Let’s see how that pans out – hope it at least moves some sand around usefully to fix some very ordinary banks at places.
