Definitely a few waves around this morning

Hello Friends,

At 0600 the MHL Sydney buoy was showing 1.4 metres of 13-sec SE swell – which is more than the models were predicting yesterday. In fact, the waves look to be pretty close in size to Wednesday morning’s offerings.

It was clean and lightly offshore under sunny skies. Tide was high at 0550 and will be back to low at 1215.

Wind is predicted to pick up from north ahead of a late afternoon south change. So, the morning session looks the best option.

Fairly ordinary surfing conditions on the cards for the next little while if the models are to be believed. The Goat’s usually along with his weekly take on the situation, so as always, I’ll be looking forward to seeing what he thinks. Will it really be big on Sunday-Monday but getting smashed by the wind? Tell us all oh mighty Goat!

Have yourself a great Thursday everyone!

Weather Situation
A slow-moving high pressure system over the Tasman Sea is maintaining a ridge towards the northern New south Wales coast, while a trough lies over the state’s south and west. This trough will bring a southerly change to southern and central parts of the coast today, before stalling and weakening on the Mid-north Coast overnight. A return to generally northerly winds is expected during Friday as the high reasserts its dominance. Another southerly change will accompany the the arrival of a cold front in the south later Saturday, intensifying as it pushes northwards during Sunday.
