Yay! Little waves for Saturday morning

Hello Friends,

A pleasant surprise this morning for model-watchers who, like your correspondent, were expecting flatness this morning. Although tide was high at 0740, wind was light and we had a touch over a metre of 13 sec SE swell coming in. At the best spots on the biggest sets, that meant wave faces into the chest to shoulder range. Mostly of course it was much smaller, but you could definitely jag ’em. Crowds didn’t seem too silly either.
Outlook is for the swell to decay as the day goes along and for the wind to pick up and go NE this afternoon. Tomorrow’s set to be NE as well, but the models are showing the swell at only about 0.5 metres or less.
The front half of the coming week doesn’t look too red-hot it has to be said. On current predictions, it seems we can look forward to another south pulse filling in from Thursday. It could last into Saturday according to some predictions, but there’s a big question mark over the wind setting. Right now the consensus seems to be for SE’ly…
Have yourself a top old Saturday everyone!
