"Stay happy and you'll be perfectly fine" - Jack Norris

Scrappy but surfable for the keen

Hello Friends,

After the furious pulse yesterday morning, I really thought we’d have more in the tank today. As the pictures show, it’s dropped back to a third the size at Dee Why, plus the surface conditions are kind of choppy and disorganised looking (it was NE late last night, so that probably accounts for it). There were waist to chest plusses along the beach and very occasional sets of a similar size at the point. Wind was coming from the WSW at 6-8 kts. Out at sea swell was coming mainly from the east and was about 1.7 metres at 10 seconds.
This is probably our quiet day because from tomorrow it looks as though Huey’s dialling it up to 12. We’re talking 4-6 metres from the south on Friday evening according to the Bureau (and all the models). The crazy big stuff could stick around all weekend too, plus it’ll be showery and southerly.
Interesting, at the very least.

(sorry to run late this morning, NBN issues getting in the way)

Weather Situation

Northerly winds are strengthening along the southern half of the coast today ahead of the cold front that will cross the coastal waters later today, with a gusty west to southwesterly wind change in the wake. Winds will turn southerly during the latter part of the week, with strong to gale force winds and large powerful southerly swells possible, as vigorous southerly airstream develops along the coast in association with a deepening low pressure system near New Zealand.
