Chilly start for another surf day

Hello Friends,

Noticeably smaller on the sets on a brisk Tuesday morning at Dee Why. But it’s still looking reasonably big when the bombs turn up.  Mostly though waves are looking reasonably approachable.

Out at sea the swell was a touch under the 2 metre mark, coming from the east and packing an 11 second period. Water is on 19C and the first tide of the day is the low at 1120. Wind was out of the WNW at 11-13 kts. Weather should see a high of 16C.

Swell should stick around at about the current intensity today although it could be a little smaller this afternoon. Outlook is for the head high stuff to stick around into Thursday.

Take care and don’t forget the mask when you go out!

Interesting chart (in a scary way) showing the relentless rise in sea surface temps over the last 100 years. It’s gone up close to a degree since I was born in the early 50’s. But the pace really started picking up in the 1980s. Climate change in action my friends. Is the Mauna Loa Observatory, Hawaii records for C02 ...
