"Stay happy and you'll be perfectly fine" - Jack Norris

Tiny early but big stuff inbound

Hello Friends,

One of those mornings when the wind is rattling the rigging at RealSurf HQ and the rain is coming and going. And yet, despite all the bluster, the ocean looks smooth and there’s just a small line showing. Wind was out of the west as of 0900 and waves looked to be in the waist high range on sets at Dee Why. The offshore buoys were in a very different world, seeing 3.5 metre swell at 8 seconds and up to six metres of seas on top of it. But we weren’t seeing the energy because the dominant direction was 187° or S by SSW. That means it’s all roaring off to NZ right now.

But have a look at the marine forecast from the Bureau below. As the swell direction swings more southerly, things will start happening…

Go well, stay safe and mask up when you have to go out.

Weather Situation

Northerly winds are strengthening ahead of a cold front that will move off the east coast today, with a strong south to southwesterly change across the central coastal waters and a westerly change elsewhere in its wake. The winds will further strengthen to gale to storm force later today as a low pressure system forms around central coastal waters and deepens. Winds will gradually ease during mid week as the low slowly drifts east.
