Smooth and weak but catchable

Hello Friends,

Another grey and drizzly morning along the beaches. There were waves around, but they were in the thigh to waist high range at best and very weak. Plus, it looked to be a long wait between the catchable ones. Swell at sea was 1.4m at 7 seconds from the NE. Tide was low at 0610 and will be back to high at 1240. Wind should come up from the NE and we can expect showers and rain periods all day. As the shot above shows, water quality is iffy, particularly near lagoon entrances.

Surf outlook? It’s Thursday, so I’m waiting to hear what the Mighty Goat thinks…

Have a good one everybody!

Weather Situation

A high pressure system over the southern Tasman Sea will continue to move slowly east through the coming days, to be located near New Zealand by Friday. This system, in combination with a trough over the inland, is generating northerly winds along the coast. During Thursday, a weak southerly change is forecast to move up the southern coast. This change will strengthen and extend north on Friday and early Saturday as the trough moves offshore and a new high becomes established in the Bight.
