The Goat’s Surf Forecast

The Goat’s Surf Forecast And New Year’s Message

Surf forecast issued Thursday 30 December 2021: Seven day outlook for Sydney:

Finally some proper Summer weather, with lots of people enjoying it, visually evident by the number of brightly coloured beach umbrellas on the beach…

The nice weather unfortunately lines up with small waves (not unexpected) and increasing numbers of covid cases/positives staying at home in isolation.

The outlook is for some more days of good weather and basically small Summer surf – but that can always be fun at the right tide right place – before we start to see some little effect from a Low (not a TC) expected to form up off the FNQ coast and come down the coast to off FNNSW.

It’ll send some swell down right down the middle of the Tasman, but in closer to shore the NE swell will be battling Southerly headwinds.

TG expects some swell to arrive from up north, but thinks that the S Wind/NE Swell battle will result in a modest, though noticable, surf outcome.

Friday: about 1 ish metres or so East/South (more noticable at lower tides)

Saturday:  around 1 – 1+ metres North East

Sunday: similar then increasing a little

Monday: somewhere in the 1-2 metre range, prob round the middle, NE

Tuesday: 1- 2 metre range North East, swell building a little but battling a strong SE wind

Wednesday: 1-2 metre range North East, being buffeted (as in getting whacked, rather than getting something to eat) by a S wind

Thursday: something similar.

TG’s Message for 2022

If you’re anything like TG (?? He’s a Goat?? Anyhoo..) …

Have Fun. But keep it real.

From what TG hears, most people are currently keeping a low profile, doing things low key, and have no Dumb stuff planned.

Stay Positive. But not Covid Positive…

And hopefully we can have lots of healthy surfing and living in 2022!

Stay happy …Keep Smiling!

TG.
