"Stay happy and you'll be perfectly fine" - Jack Norris

Nice morning but still really small

Hello Friends,

Another fine start to the day with only a light ESE breeze barely texturing the sea. As the pictures show, it’s also another morning with only the faintest hint of a wave. Out at sea there was a metre of 9-second east swell wafting in to the beaches. Optimal alignments were in the knee and a bit range, but it is extremely weak and gutless looking. Beachwatch says the water’s a balmy 23C as we head to a high along the coast of 27C on what should be a partly cloudy day with a medium chance of a passing shower. Not that it matters much, but the first tide of the day is the 0.7m low at 1145.
This morning’s swell models continue to show a little pick up in energy levels from tomorrow afternoon onward. Friday could potentially be pretty fun in a low-key way. If said models are right, early next week could be good too… here’s hoping!
Stay safe, wear the N95 and good luck finding RATs.

Weather Situation

A high pressure system lies over the Tasman Sea while a weak trough approaching central waters has a southerly change in its wake. On Thursday the trough will dissipate allowing east to northeasterly winds to turn north to northeasterly and then increase on Friday.
