"Stay happy and you'll be perfectly fine" - Jack Norris

A few in the morning but by afternoon Australia Day surf was strictly so-so

Hello Friends,

Late afternoon report for Australia Day. The ENE wind has been into it since 1000, and by the time I checked it out, conditions were classic summer afternoon dreck. The wind was starting to dial back at 8-13 kts as of 1730 and out at sea the ESE swell was 1.3 metres at 9 seconds. So, it wasn’t flat, but the lumpy cross chop was doing it in.

Tomorrow is shaping to be pretty similar to today. So expect the onshore to be texturing it up by around 1000. If the modelled prediction of a 12 second period is right then wave heights for the early might be into the shoulder plus range at east magnets. I was on the bike this morning for a Ride with Aboriginal Peoples from Kay-me-my (Manly) to Garigal (Church Point) this morning, so saw the waves at Manly, Curly, Dee Why, Northy and Warriewood to Mona Vale. If tomorrow is the same, then the best looking energy was at Manly and Northy.

Go well everyone!

Weather Situation

A high pressure system will be the dominate feature over the southern Tasman Sea for most of this week, extending a ridge to the northern New South Wales coast. The ridge will maintain east to southeasterly winds along northern parts of the coast and north to northeasterly winds along southern parts.
