The Goat’s Surf Forecast

Update

TG noticed on the wetaher map this morning that a rather intense Low that had silently slipped down into the Tasman could be sending some bumps our way. When the sun came out later and it was hot he decided on a quick dip. The first little wave that he hit gave him a surpisingly solid whack for its size, suggesting they might be forerunners of something else. Sure enough size increased quite quickly and noticably with the shallow low tide.

So before the expected southerly hits it around Wednesday….

Tuesday:  could build thru the 1-2 metre range , 2 + metres East East North and the long period will mean waves pack a whallop. Watch out at lower tides.

The Goat’s Surf Forecast

Surf forecast issued Thursday 28 January 2022: Seven day outlook for Sydney:

Fab weather finally for Summer, and just as the weather improves, the surf also becomes stereotypical (big word)  Summery surf. Doesn’t matter.. Air’s noice, water’s noice, not much humidity, and if it get too hot, you can get out of the sun and enjoy the breeze in the shade. Spoilt for choice.

Outlook from the Bureau is for a cool change midweek, so enjoy the Sydney Summer while you can.

Surfwise…Well, a bit of sweet and sour, or sour and sour, depending on your viewpoint. Small Noreast for the weekend and early next week; It could be coming up a bit mid week but also with wind to mess it about and not make it look too pretty.. Still there could be somewhere in a corner, maybe??

Saturday: around 1-1+ metres East North East

Sunday: ditto

Monday: around 1 ish metres East

Tuesday: ditto

Wednesday: say up a bit to 1 – 1+ metres East South East, chopped up as the southerly gets into it

Thursday: say, oh let’s say, ditto

Friday: could be bigger but too far out for a crystal clear crystal ball… it’s getting fogged up, so check next week.

Hey if you really care about “saving the planet”??… how about when you turn up in the carpark to check the surf and sit there for ages with the motor running… you turn it off!, open your bloody window, and enjoy the sounds of the wind and the sea, like the rest of us .. OK??

Have a safe and relaxing extended Aussie Day holiday long weekend. There’s enough drama in the world…

TG.
