Heaps of swell at south magnets Tuesday morning

Hello Friends,

Swell continued its gradual fade overnight but this morning was still seeing reasonably frequent overhead sets at south magnets. It was 2.2 metres at sea as of 1000 and coming from 165° (SSE) at a juicy 14 seconds apart. I grabbed the snaps about an hour after the 0750 high tide. As you can see there was no lack of energy, but with the tide and swell direction, it was actually kind of difficult to jag waves for the dozen plus in the water. We’re heading to a high of 17C on what should be a sunny day. Water’s on 20C and clean after so many rainless days. Wind was out of the west at 13-19 kts, so conditions were nice and clean.

Outlook is for the wind to drift around to the N-NW later, so south corners will get a bit of texture later.

Prospects are for the swell to keep fading, but we should still have reasonable energy through tomorrow before it gets back to the small stuff for Thursday and Friday. Right now it looks as though we’ll have another little long period south pulse for next weekend.

Go well, stay safe and have fun!
