Hello Friends,
Ocean energy levels were at a low ebb this morning, the first day of winter 2023. If you were really keen and had some time on your hands, it was possible to get the occasional ankle-to-knee-high bump at most beaches. The wind was coming lightly from the NW under partly cloudy skies and swell at sea was a shade under a metre at 10-11 seconds from the east. Water is clean and 19 according to Beachwatch.
We’ll see what the Goat has to say later, but my quick take is that this could be the low point surfwise for the next few days …
Go well with your Thursday!
Weather Situation
A ridge of high pressure persists across central and northern coastal waters while a series of cold fronts pass to the south, bringing fresh westerly winds across southern coastal waters. Winds strong in the south before turning southerly as a cold front brushes the southeast later today, then winds will become lighter east to northeasterly throughout during the weekend as the ridge shifts to the coast. Another cold front brushes east during the weekend, with another south to southeasterly wind change in the wake.
