Small stuff about this morning

Hello Friends,

A  light westerly breeze and  a small south swell greeted early risers this morning along Sydney’s beaches. Although the swell was close to 3 metres out at sea, the average period is just 8 seconds, so you’re doing well to get something in the chest high range on sets at the magnets. Away from those places, conditions are very small. Tide hits high at 0950 and is back to low at 1550.

The wind will swing south later and then decrease toward dark. So get in early for the cleanest conditions.

Outlook for Sunday is not too exciting. There should still be a few little bumps for the early at magnets, but the short period nature of the swell means it’s not going to be too amazing. Monday and Tuesday mornings could be fun maybe as the period stretches out a touch and the swell direction swings more ESE.

Have a great Saturday everyone!

Weather Situation

A low pressure system over the Tasman Sea and an approaching high pressure system are generating fresh southerly winds along the New South Wales coast. Winds are forecast to ease today and then tend northerly later Sunday as the high reaches the Tasman Sea. Northerly winds look set to increase on Monday before shifting southerly on Tuesday as a cold front and trough cross the region.
