"Stay happy and you'll be perfectly fine" - Jack Norris

Sunny, breezy and small

Hello Friends,

After yesterday morning’s gloomy, rainy skies, Wednesday kicked off in fine fashion, with a sunny conditions and northerly wind. Swell as of 0600 was a mix of small stuff from the E-NE and the SSE. The latter was 1.7m at 10 seconds, so there should, in theory be some activity at the south magnets. But as you can see from the pics, the situation at Dee Why was not exciting. Swell’s not doing anything at the point and is struggling to get into the waist high range up the beach. Despite the period at sea, it looked pretty weak too. Kinda too bad given the water’s clean and a warm 23 on a day that promises to hit 31 later. FWIW, the tide was a highish 1.77 m at 0820 and it will drain out to a low-ish 0.41 m at 1510.

We’re heading into sultry conditions tomorrow and Friday, with cloudy weather and highs along the coast of 35. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like the surf conditions will change much. Ah well, it is summer after all.

Have a top old Wednesday everyone and stay happy!

Weather Situation

A high pressure system south of Tasmania extends a ridge along the coast while heading to the Tasman Sea, directing north to northeasterly winds. A low pressure trough reaching the southern coastal waters will bring a brief southerly wind change in the south during Thursday, then a cold front crossing the state later in the week looks set to bring another gusty southerly wind change on Friday and Saturday.
