After the Storm

It always feels so fresh after a good downpour. Apparently it washes the dust out of the atmosphere. Also washes most of the crap off the streets into the surf so watch where you swim. Tiny NE bumps breaking close to the shore on the 7:15am high tide. So smooth I think people are desperate […]

Noreast Stuff

Some 2ft NE windswell junk. Looked better than it was when I paddled out at a 6:30am high but as the tide drops out it might improve. Water finally has some cool bits mixed in after all these noreasters too. Mark

Weird Night

Weird night with a gusty southerly followed by a gusty northerly. Morning brings 3ft NE windswell peaks and cleanish conditions. Might be a repeat of yesterday with the swell dropping as the NE winds pickup. Low tide 11:46am Get out early, watch out for pooey water. Mark

First day of summer – get into it

Mix of 2 swells of unexpected size greeted the first official day of summer. There’s an underlying south swell that seems to have the most size with a NE swell of almost the same that are creating some nice sized peaks and random action.  The off 4ft bomb means you can actually take a normal […]

Sunday Bumps

A typical pre-Xmas Sunday. Early onshores. 2ft of NE windswell (a touch of tiny SE under it too) Building Sunday beach madness. 9:22am low Enjoy – Surfboards Direct

Small south for Saturday

Small south swell today with a couple of feet just getting into Manly if you are patient. Smooth. offshore and 8:11am low make the morning the best bet. Try and south magnet before the onshores kick in soon. Mark – Surfboards Direct

NUP

It’s ugly and onshore and small. Maybe hide in a north corner later when the wind clocks around more to the north. The underlying swell is south so maybe try North Curly later (whoops I’m not supposed to give specifics – sorry locals, I’m having an off day) Mark – Surfboards Direct

Super glassy

A warm, windless and super glassy morning is hard to resist just getting wet. Only some tiny NE lines that are rideable with your old faithful log on the right bank and with a lucky set.  Southerly change due to ruin it all. Mark

Slim Pickings

Was grey and tiny onshore looking at dawn. Sun is peeping out mide morning and the onshore is really light.  Pretty tiny stuff worthy of grommet enthusiasm or a longboard for the elderly (anyone above 16yrs) Mark

Not a lot of float for your boat

Slim pickings for Sunday but it is warm and glassy.  One foot or so sets and the pending 9:22am high isn’t helping.  There’s a weak south bump and a weak ne bump so probably a south magnet might have the most but it will be bank and luck dependent. Water is warmish so it’s hard […]
