More swell today

0700 and some size but not super clean.

Hello Friends,

The south pulse that began filling in from around lunchtime yesterday is still on tap this morning. But at Dee Why the surface conditions are somewhat confused. There are quite a few folks in the water up the beach from the clubhouse and size on the bigger sets is into the head high range. But it’s sectiony and slightly strange. The point is behaving in similar fashion, but it seemed to be about half the size.

The wind is WSW at around 10-12 kts as I write this and the MHL trace is showing around 3 metres of 9 second period south swell.

The Bureau is calling for the wind to get into the 15-20 kt range from the S-SW this morning and to swing more to the S and SE this afernoon. Low tide’ll be around 0830 and high will be around 1525. Both the swell forecast models and the Bureau are saying that we can expect the south swell supply to continue at about the current levels through tomorrow at least. In fact, it looks as though it could last into Thursday before dropping back a little, but not going flat as we head into the weekend.

I’m hoping to be out and about with a camera again today, so stay tuned… have yourself a top old day!

0700-ish: sort of messy and strange at the point.
