"Stay happy and you'll be perfectly fine" - Jack Norris

Another morning with small but not flat conditions

Messing about with a boat
Hello Friends,

Nothing much going on at Dee Why when I checked around 0830.The tide already seemed to be pretty high, even though it was 3+ hours away from the peak.

Swell is out of the ENE at about 1.5 metres with an average period of 9 seconds. So, while it wasn’t doing much at Dee Why, I reckon there’ll be other places better situated that will have something to play in. It’s still going to be fat and slow – and getting fatter and slower – all morning and into the afternoon. Wind is set to be out of the NW ahead of a south change tonight.

Tomorrow and Tuesday are shaping to southerly to SE, so surf options are likely to be fewer. However, TC Evan is currently projected to track south to SW from Fiji toward NZ (one model shows the remnants ending up in the Bay of Islands around this time next week). Swell looks like lighting up the far north coast from around Friday, and then making its way south to the Sydney region by Saturday afternoon. Given the fetch, periods should be in the 12-14s range… that’d be nice!

However, we are talking about what the models project a tropical cyclone will do in a week’s time…

Anyway, get out there and Have yourself a top old Sunday everyone.
