"Stay happy and you'll be perfectly fine" - Jack Norris

Better late than never!

Hello Friends,

Sorry to wander in so late… went surfin’ this morning and then took pictures and stuff… you know how it is boss. According to the MHL data, Sydney was the biggest region wave wise along the NSW coast at midday. Under sunny skies and with a light offshore, swell was coming in from the south at around 1.6 metres with an average period of close to 11 seconds.

It was a bit bigger this morning when I checked Curly at around 0920, but there were still some chest to even shoulder plus sets turning up at the most exposed spots by midday. Curly hadn’t caught my fancy (tide making it kinda fat and lumpy when I saw it) so I went for a splash just to get wet at the point. There were only half a dozen of us in the water because it was so small and inconsistent. But that said, there were a few chest plus sets, so I had fun.

After I got out, I wandered up to Longy where I could see squillions in the water. By the time I got there at about noon the tide was pretty low and the consensus was that it’d been better earlier. Even so, there were, as the pictures show, a few chest plus set waves to be had.

So, that makes a couple of days on the trot when the forecast had basically been for near flat. You could find near flat if you looked of course, but the south magnets were and are fun enough to put a few smiles on dials.

On the outlook, I am in broad agreement with his Goatness about the prospects for the week ahead. South magnets ahoy next Tue-Wed!
