"Stay happy and you'll be perfectly fine" - Jack Norris

Blown flat

Hello Friends,

The only waves being detected by the MHL Sydney buoy this morning were westerly ripples being pushed out to sea by the vigorous WNW wind. The Bureau says there should be 1-1.5 metres of south swell, but there’s no sign of it in the spectral data (a chart that shows where the swell’s coming from, how big it is and what the average period is). If you can find an ankle to knee high set wave today, you’ll be doing very well indeed. Fortunately it looks from the forecasts as though the wavelessness will be at its worst this morning and maybe by this afternoon, south spots will be showing something again.
Outlook for the remainder of the week is shaping up okay according to the models. Tuesday could see some waist high activity with strong offshores. Wednesday morning early could be back to zippo (kinda like today) but by late afternoon we could see some hint of the expected south swell event that’s expected to be hitting in earnest on Thursday. Thursday and Friday have been shaping up to be pretty intense for some days now and the models are still projecting solid overhead south swell and strong SW wind with chilly temps but sunny skies on Thursday. With any luck, the good to potentially excellent conditions could last into Sunday morning.
So whoohoo! for that 🙂
Go well with your Monday
