Off to the south coast for something different

Hello Friends,

When once-upon-a-time RealSurf reporter PB had an unexpected day off, we decided on the spur of the moment to wander down south on a wave hunt. Swell down this way was pretty similar to Sydney, ie SE around 1.5 metres with some 10-sec plus sets and light sideshore wind texturing it up.
We’d originally thought of hitting the Farm, but it hadn’t looked too flash last night, so instead we checked Werri beach first. Swell was getting into it, but between the banks and incoming tide, it didn’t end up being alluring enough to tempt us in. The fact that no one else was in the water on a sunny morning also tells you something.
So we headed down to Seven Mile. Timing our arrival perfectly with the appearance of the local surf school, we found long boardable waist to chest-ish, slightly textured lefts and rights. We both managed to score a few long slides in the kinda chilly water (felt a degree or two colder than Sydney).
Swell is set to fade across the next 24 hours or so and then it should perk back up for Friday when the Bureau is expecting us to see a combo of 1-1.5 metre east and south swells (more south in the am, more east in the pm) with brisk north winds. Not a super fantastic outlook, but that east component could see a few protected north corners be potentially interesting.
Have yourself a great day one and all, and see you again tomorrow!
