Thursday and the swell continues

Hello Friends,

Very similar start to yesterday, but with slightly less energy than yesterday. Wind was offshore at 0730 and should be variable and light through lunchtime. Swell’s got a bit more east to it as well, so with luck that’ll mean a few more surf options around and the crowd pressure at the point won’t be quite as intense as yesterday.

As of 0500 the MHL buoy was showing 1.7 metres of ESE swell at 11-12s. As the pictures show, this meant set wave faces that were solidly overhead at the point and along the beach.

Tide will hit high at 0945 and be back to low around 1600. Should be sunny all day too.

From the look of the models, we’re going to have fun conditions again tomorrow with only a small drop in size overnight. It’ll be interesting to see the Goat’s take on the coming week. From my reading it looks like being okay to Saturday then not so interesting after that.

Have yourself a great Thursday and keep on smilin’!

Weather Situation
A high pressure system over southeast New South Wales will direct southeasterly winds across most of the waters, with more variable winds expected in the south. Winds over southern and central waters will turn north to northeasterly and freshen this afternoon as the high weakens and drifts northeast ahead of an approaching front. A fresh to strong southerly change will move up the south coast on Friday, and continue through central and northern parts on Saturday. Winds will begin to shift easterly on Sunday as a new ridge extends from the Bight in the wake of the front.
