The Goat’s Surf Forecast

Surf forecast issued Thursday 1 March 2018:

Seven day outlook for Sydney:

I can’t resist starting with the Bureau’s summary of the:

Weather Situation
A vigorous southerly change has moved along the southern and central coast overnight, and is forecast to reach the far north coast by this evening. Following this change, a weak high pressure ridge will extend across New South Wales waters as a high pressure system slowly moves from the Bight to the Tasman Sea by the weekend. Winds will turn north to northeasterly during Saturday as this high moves over the Tasman Sea, ahead of another southerly change expected on the south coast on Sunday morning.

It certainly was “Vigorous” at our place when it came through in the very early nighttime hours, blowing things around the bedroom. I remember hearing this and noticing that it made my wife get up and close the window!

The waves were small to nothing first thing this morning, but came up later at places open to dead South, along with the wind, which made it very unattractive to hmm….everyone.

The outlook as you can see is for more chopping and changing of winds,  so don’t expect too much in the way of surf…

Friday: down from this arvo, around the middle of the 1-2 metre range at dead South places, with wind, and very little elsewhere

Saturday: down more, say 1 metre or less South East

Sunday: ditto East South East/South

Monday: around 1 metre East North East, then starting to come up later from SE with the wind

Tuesday: around the middle of the 1-2 metre range East South East/ South, possibly with some sets

Wednesday: down low end of the 1-2metre range South East

Thursday: around 1 metre or so South East

Friday: ditto

Enjoy!
