Postcards from Dee Why

A bit smaller at Dee Why this morning than at Curly. The point is just workable for longer boards but it’s quite a wait for the knee and a bit sets. It’s closer to chest high on the bigger ones so it was busy.

Postcards from Curly

Swell hitting the Curl Curl stretch was into the shoulder head high range at 0930. Heaps of people in the water particularly in the middle.

Curly and Dee Why pix

Curly getting the most energy this morning. Set wave faces were in the shoulder plus range. A challenge finding a peak though and fairly inconsistent. One turn, quick pull in then bam! Dee Why showing waist to chest up the beach but smaller, less consistent and weaker at the point.

Cute but tiny at Manly

A few people in the water along the Manly stretch chasing knee to waist offshore shutdowns.

Long lines and surf if you can find a peak

Still micro on Sunday morning

Hello Friends, Just about dead flat at Dee Why on Sunday morning, but the Bureau tells us the swell should bump up around midday as a new pulse starts to make itself felt. Around the time the swell starts to perk, the wind should be around to the SW at 15-20 kts. Tide hits high […]

Very small to nearly flat early

Hello Friends, The Bureau has posted a strong wind warning for Saturday and even before the sun had risen, it was blowing a steady 8-10 kts from the west. Out at sea the sub-1 metre wind bump was coming from the SSE (167°) at about 5 seconds apart. So basically there is almost no surf […]

The Goat’s Surf Forecast Surf forecast issued Friday 8 May 2020: Seven day outlook for Sydney: We’re all itching to get wet, so TG sacrificed his body for you today to test the water.  Air temp 27, water temp 20, 21… Should be ok for swimming without a wettie.. No point taking the board out.. […]

Curly snaps

Knee to waist at Curly, fat and slowish as well but straight offshore under sunny skies.
