Sunny micro morning for Dee Why

Hello Friends,

The last day of winter started out with sunny skies and a steady 6-9 kt westerly breeze. There was only a tiny 0.8 m 5-second SE wind bump showing on the buoy feeds, so it’s flat along the beaches. There’s not much showing on the buoys off to the south of us, but the Bureau says the swell could be into the 1-2 metre range by this afternoon. Unfortunately it’s then due to fade tomorrow. I’m keen to see what the Goat says tomorrow because from the models it’s looking like a south pulse with a lot of south wind over the weekend but then maybe next week swell could swing east…

Have yourself a great day everyone!

Weather Situation

A trough about the mid north coast this morning, will continue to move north and extend southerly winds across all waters by early afternoon. Winds are then expected to become south to southeasterly and ease this afternoon, as this trough continues to move away to the east and a ridge of high pressure develops in its wake. While winds may briefly tend northeasterly on Thursday, fresh to strong southerly winds are forecast to develop on Friday as the high pressure system near the Bight strengthens and another trough develops to the north.
