Tiny at Dee Why on Monday morning

Hello Friends,

Dee Why point was off the surf menu this morning and from RealSurf HQ it looked like you’d need to head up the beach toward Longy to even have a chance of a catchable one. Swell at sea was 1.4 metres at 8 seconds from the SSE, so that should mean waist-ish high at the best exposures. The wind’s been coming from the WNW since midnight, and was only 5-7 kts at 0830, so the ocean was looking rather attractive under the sunny skies. First tide of the day is a 1.65m high at 0920. It’ll be back to low at 1530.

It’s going to be sunny and getting to a summery 28 today, plus the wind should be ok through the morning before it drifts around to the NE for the afternoon. The Bureau says the swell should come up a bit across the day, so maybe pencil in a late afternoon check-out of your fave north corner…

Interestingly, the Bureau has posted possible hazardous surf conditions for tomorrow as the swell gets into the 2 metre range from the south. Both the ECM and GFS models are saying the periods should stretch out into the 12-14 second range. Weather’s set to be sunny and the winds are forecast to be fairly light as well.

Have a great Monday everyone!
