The Goat’s Surf Forecast

Surf forecast issued Thursday 17 August 2023: Seven day outlook for Sydney

Looks like a bit of free water from the sky is on its way according to the Radar.. You might want to get your washing in if it’s on the line… just enough to be annoying if you don’t want it to get wet overnight.

Saw my first whales of the Down Season heading south this week and I’m pretty sure it was the mother and calf Southern Right Whales spotted in the river at Port Macquarie a few days earlier.

More than a surf forecast… An invaluable community service 🙂

Anyhoo the surf outlook>>>

Small >~~>, then a brief uptick ^~~^, then down again v~~v.

Note the Bureau’s powerful surf warning for Saturday in the Weather forecast.

Friday: going down from today, say 1 metre or less South East

Saturday: starting to come up from the South, say 1-2 or 2 metres at places open to due South, easing back later.

Sunday: around say 1-1+ metres at dead South spots

Monday: ditto

Tuesday: down to around 1 metre or less dead South places

Wednesday: ditto

Thursday: ditto

Stay safe in the surf. Surf Patrols haven’t started yet.  There have unfortunately been recent drownings.

If you’re an experienced surfer, keep an eye out for obviously inexperienced people going in at the wrong places…whether they’re swimming or on a board. You might save a life.
