"Stay happy and you'll be perfectly fine" - Jack Norris

Big, lumpy and bumpy

Hello Friends,
The radar shows showers hugging the coast as of 0700. Early wind is still out of the SW at 7-9 kts, but the Bureau tells us it’ll go southerly and power up into the 15-25 kt range this morning. Ocean looked very lumpy and messy, but it has come up dramatically since yesterday and as of 0700 swell was 4.1 m at 10 seconds from 151° with 7-sec seas bringing maximum heights to 6.8 metres offshore.
Prospects for an improvement are not good. There may be some rough looking but potentially surfable head plus things in the most protected south corners. You’ll want to be super keen though.
Tide was low at 0600 and will be back to a 1.6 m high at 1230. Showers should back off this morning as we head to a partly cloudy day with a high of 19C. Beachwatch reports that ocean temps have bumped up a notch to 20C.

A few snaps from Manly this morning…

Weather Situation
A low off the NSW coast is causing strong southerly flow along parts of the NSW coast, however winds gradually ease today as the low will quickly move away to the east. Another front looks set to skim across far southern coastal waters early Saturday after which the next high will extend a ridge along the coast during the weekend.
