Still raw and junky looking on Monday morning

Hello Friends,

Monday started with passing showers, light westerly wind and 3.7 metres of 14-15 second SE swell out at sea. Despite the wind smoothing the surface, the swell was looking lumpy and messy, although big. I couldn’t see anyone in the water at the point when I grabbed the snaps. It looked like there might be the odd interesting one in all the chaos… maybe… You can forget any open stretches this morning.

The wind’s set to stay west to SW for the next 48 hours according to the Bureau and the swell should fade back into the 2 metre range by Tuesday. Unfortunately the showery stuff will continue through Thursday. And that of course means the sketchy water quality will still be a thing.

Have a great Monday everyone and stay safe

Weather Situation

A trough off the coast is moving across the far northern coast this morning, after which it is expected to weaken while a ridge of high pressure system drifts across the southeast of Australia. On Tuesday, a cold front is forecast to bring a southerly change to the southern waters which will spread north on Wednesday. Fresh southerly winds are likely to strengthen as a broad area of low pressure develops over the Tasman Sea later on Wednesday in the wake of this front.
