Waves about for Saturday morning

Hello Friends,

Light NW wind and a metre and a bit of 8-second ESE was delivering waist to the occasional plus all along the beaches. And as the pictures show, there were plenty of surfers in the water by 0630. Tide was coming off the predawn low at 0410 and will hit the 1.67m high at 1035. Conditions were partly cloudy as the day started and we should get to a high of 26C later.

Swell energy is set to tail off a little as the day goes along and the wind’s set to come around to the NE by this afternoon.

Looks as though we’ll get a south change early tomorrow, so while it’ll push the energy levels up, the wind will be chewing up all the best exposures. The more hopeful swell models suggest that Monday and Tuesday could be pretty fun for the morning sessions as we enjoy a couple metres of 10+ second period south swell.

Have yourself a top old Saturday, pack the mask and your vax cert, and stay safe!

Weather Situation

A weak ridge of high pressure off the coast is bringing north to northeasterly winds to coastal New South Wales. A trough of low pressure over western parts of the state is expected to move east and reach the southern half of the coast later today and the remainder Sunday morning, bringing a fresh to strong south to southwesterly change. A low developing east of Tasmania on Sunday should maintain a southwest to southeasterly airstream along the coast on Monday.
